Message from Commandant

In 2009, over five thousand six hundred (5,600) new hands were recruited, trained and deployed to various commands. Currently, about three thousand four hundred and fifty young men and women are part of the new employment for 2012 period. They are all undergoing basic training in both Ikeja and Kano colleges.

As a commandant, I write to congratulate the Cadets who are beneficiaries of the gesture of the present Customs administration and the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as I wish them all a happy training period.

How To Cultivate The Art Of Listening - DSC Azanor, Mondi

How To Cultivate The Art Of Listening - DSC Azanor, Mondi

I chose to discuss this topic in this maiden edition of The Citadel because I think there is no better time but now since it has bearing with the purpose for being in the training college for the Basic Customs Training Course.

Many have passed through this renowned College and have achieved greatness while in Service and even in retirement. This was as a result of what is inculcated into them and the willingness to listen to their trainers.

Let me quickly say that the Customs is a profession. After leaving the tertiary institution with your degree and certificate and joining the Service in whatever cadre, you are expected to lay aside your discipline to embrace a new profession that is highly technical if you want to make a career out of it.

The Nigeria Customs Service is a career profession and it requires skilled training.
